Our first weird food is called “Haggis” which is mostly popular is Scottland. It is a sheep’s heart, lungs and liver minced and mixed with onions, oatmeal, suet and seasoning with salt and spices cooked inside the sheep’s stomach. That does NOT sound appealing to me!
Our second weird food are “Tuna Eyeballs” from Japan. It’s just what the name says. It’s litterly just eyeballs cut out of a tuna and it actually tastes like Octopus or Squid according to the reviews on the food.
Our third strange food is called “Spam” which was made in the United States of America. It is a mystery meat. It is said to be made from chopped pork shoulder meat, ham and potato starch.
Our fourth weird food actually has many names such as: Century Egg, 100 Year Old Egg and 1,00 Year Old Egg. These eggs are actually CENTURIES old and yet people eat them in China. By the time you eat them there rotten, the yolk is green and the white part of the egg turns brown but the reviews say it tastes good. I’m not so sure if your stomach agrees with that.
Our next strange food is called “Wasp Cracker” mostly popular in Japan. Just as the name says, it’s dead wasps inside of a cracker or bagel. I wish your tongue good luck on NOT getting stung!
Our sixth food is from South Korea and is called “Beondegi”. It is boiled or steamed and possibly slightly seasoned silk worms. This is actually a very popular snack in South Korea and is usually sold by street vendors. Apparently, the reviews say it tastes like wood. How do they what wood tastes like!?!
Our seventh food is “Bird Nest Soup” from Southeast Asia. It is made from the nest of a swiftlet bird and instead of building a nest with twigs, they build a nest with gummy saliva, which is hardly exposed to air. Many people die while trying to harvest these nests to put into the soup. Whether this soup is worth human sacrfice, I have yet to find out…
“Southern Fried Rattle Snake” was created in the Untied States of America and it’s just fried rattle snake which to me, doesn’t sound that appealing.
Our ninth food is “Balut” from the Philippines. It is a a developing duck embryo boiled alive in its shell. Even though it sounds horrific, it’s still a common food found in bears in the Philippines.
Last but not least, we have the Dragon Fruit grown on cactus’ America. They have a pink and green outside it looks like a Oreo Milkshake from Burger King.
